Pannon Tokaj - zsomBOR - 2011 Limited Edition

Pannon Tokaj, zsomBor, 2011, Limited Edition

Zefino had the chance to save 10 bottles from the 575 bottles made in 2011.

Every bottle is individually numbered on the backlabel.

zsomBor is a semi-dry Furmint with 11gr. of residual sugar, at 14,5 alc./VV. The grape was harvested at the end of October 2011, fermented for 28 days on marc, macerating and cooling permanently. After the maceration the wine had been aged for 3,5 months in Hungarian oak barrels. Bottles in March 2012, giving 3 months time for the bottle aging, personally I would still wait for 1-2 years before opening, it is a big white wine for gourmands!
Straw yellow colour, with a pronounced nose, showing green apple, strong quince and apricot at the end. Surprisingly from a white wine, zsomBor shows raspberries, blackberries, greengage plums, then apricots, melon, grapefruit, mango on the palate. Vivid acidity, elegant style with a long finish with roasted vanilla hints from the oak barrels.
This beauty has got a new, elegant design :
- bottled in 0,75 litre olivegreen Rhein-bottle, with glass cork (vino-lock),
- Silver metallic coloured label set, black aluminium capsule,
- Individual backlabel, with alphanumeric number.
Drink now or keep it for 5-6 years. We recommend to any kind of cheeses, salads, fish dishes, well seasoned white meats on 10°C.
With a fine cigar - after meal - is a great fun.
