Bourgogne

Burgundy

Domaine Bernard Bonin - Mersault
Domaine Bernard Bonin is a 7 hectare estate, solely planted with Chardonnay that was re-invigorated in 1999 by Nicolas Bernard and Veronique Bonin. A natural approach to winemaking is utilized in order to respect the terroir and vintage, with hand harvesting and no weeding. After 18 months ageing - the exact date decided by the lunar calendar - the wines are bottled without refining or filtration.

Bourgogne Blanc - 2011
From vineyards situated between Meursault and Puligny, this is an exceptional Bourgogne Blanc. As good as many producers Meursaults, and drinking beautifully now.

Domaine Chevrot - Cheilly-les-Maranges
Situated at the very south of the Cotes d'Or, the Maranges appellation sits on clay/ calcereous soils with Jurrasic limestone subsoil. With 13 hectares of vines devoted to biodynamic viticulture, there is no lack of commitment at the family owned Domaine Chevrot. Purity is the aim, tempered with affordability - both are achieved - though the estate never rest on its laurels.  Average vine age here is 35 years, but the fact that some parcels are as old as 60 years, perhaps helps to ilustrate that there is nothing average about this estate, Pablo is currently the incumbent Chevrot, becoming the fourth generation to manage the estate when he took over from his father in 2002.

Bourgogne Pinot Noir - 2009/2010
A truly charming Pinot Noir with open fruit and a wonderful precision to its delicate, clean red fruit expression.

Domaine David Duband - Chevannes
Domaine Duband is one of Burgundy's fastest rising new stars. A passionate young man, David quickly turned the family domaine in Chevannes into an exciting producer of carefully crafted wines from the Cote de Nuits. David's winemaking style is modern, emphasising clean ripe fruit, yet each wine clearly demonstrating its own individual character and giving a vivid expression of the qualities expected from its appellation.
Duband realises the quality of his wines is governed by the fruit he uses and so with his team he has steadily refined his approach in the vineyard, cutting yields, increasing selection, maintaining planting densities and adopting an increasingly organic approach. All moves aimed at maximizing fruit quality.
